Content Highlights

  • Still Point Turning: the Catherine McGregor Story by Priscilla Jackman: “An audacious, poignant portrayal" (The Guardian) of one of Australia’s most intriguing public figures. In 2012, aged 56, Catherine McGregor who had until that point lived her life as a man, faced a turning point: end her life, or transition as a woman.
  • Benched by Jamila Main: This intimate, dynamic play explores the idea of athleticism within a disabled body, asking ablebodied spectators to reconsider their assumptions of sick and disabled people.
  • Chasing the Lollyman by Mark Sheppard: One of Queensland’s most dynamic and funny Indigenous performers, Mark weaves stand-up with storytelling and clown. He plays a variety of characters and pokes fun at everything from Neighbours (what would it be like if a Murri family moved into Ramsey Street) to politics.
  • The Hypochondriac adapted by Hilary Bell: Blending a nostalgic use of comic genres with vaudeville, slapstick, and a touch of commedia del’arte, this adaptation of Molière’s comedy is a contemporary take on a classic farce.
