Inhalt :: Content Online-Service mit Zugang zu sämtlichen Ausgaben der Tageszeitung Xinhua Daily (Xinhua Ribao / 新華日報) aus der Zeit des Zweiten Chinesisch-Japanischen Krieges und des Chinesischen Bürgerkriegs im kombinierten Volltext- und Faksimileformat. Das Blatt war das offizielle Sprachrohr der Kommunistischen Partei Chinas (KPCh) in den von der Kuomintang (KMT) kontrollierten Gebieten. Sie wurde im Januar 1938 zunächst in Hankou (Wuhan) gegründet und verlegte ihren Hauptsitz kurz darauf nach Chongqing, der damaligen Kriegshauptstadt Chinas unter Chiang Kai-shek. In dieser Phase diente die Zeitung als zentrales Organ für die Einheitsfront-Politik, Antikriegspropaganda und politische Debatten im kriegsgebeutelten China, bis die Redaktion 1947 im Zuge des aufkeimenden Bürgerkriegs von der KMT geschlossen wurde. Das Archiv gewährt direkte Einblicke in die Propaganda- und Kommunikationsstrategien der KPCh während ihrer Jahre im Untergrund bzw. im KMT-Herrschaftsgebiet. Verlagsinformation :: Publisher's information Founded in Wuhan on January 11, 1938 as the official newspaper of the Yangtze River Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Xinhua Daily moved to Chongqing on October 25 of the same year and was closed by the Kuomintang government on February 28, 1947. Over 9 years, 1 month and 18 days, it published 3,231 issues despite political instability and civil war. Initiated by Comrade Zhou Enlai, it was the only legal daily of the Communist Party of China in Kuomintang-ruled areas and holds a special and important position in the history of Chinese journalism.
